Substitute School Nurse
New Milford Public Schools, a growth-oriented, progressive K-12 public school district in Bergen County, is looking to hire substitute nurses for the 2026-2027 school year.
Qualifications:
a. Education: Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse of New Jersey
b. Other: Current certification in CPR
Job Goal: To provide primary health and emergency care to students by either covering a health office during nurse absences, field trips, or organized school activity.
Primary Responsibilities:
? Stands in for school nurses in their absences
? Attends field trips as needed for medically compromised students
? Attends school organized activities as needed
? Follow school district standing orders
? Administer first aid as per district policy
? Administer medications and treatments as ordered and per district policy
? Document all encounters in the electronic health record/appropriate method
? Communication with home-base nurses
? Adhere to all district rules, regulations and policies
Appropriate NJ certification is required.
