Half day sub rate is $95.\n \nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\n\n Exhibit motivation and enthusiasm, fostering a genuine passion for teaching and nurturing young learners.\n Cultivate a child-centered classroom that prioritizes student engagement and growth.\n Plan and implement instructional programs and activities tailored to meet the individual needs of students, considering their cultural, behavioral, motivational, and ability differences, while striving for the highest achievable outcomes for each learner.\n Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and media to create dynamic learning experiences, demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching, a commitment to student success, appropriate language usage, and a genuine interest in both the subject matter and the students.\n Administer developmental tests, subject-specific assessments, and other evaluation tools to determine student competency levels and design individualized learning plans.\n Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share student progress, establish clear expectations, foster improvement strategies, and align classroom goals with home support.\n Organize and lead age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities to engage students actively in meaningful learning experiences.\n Collaborate effectively with instructional staff, school personnel, parents, and community resources to enhance student outcomes and contribute to achieving school improvement goals.\n Demonstrate subject-specific and instructional methods to provide effective, personalized learning opportunities for students.\n Implement academic and behavioral management plans, incorporating literacy activities, stories, songs, math and science lessons, art projects, behavioral expectations, and monitoring to meet regulatory guidelines, performance standards, and encourage family involvement.\n Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment by managing student behavior and addressing individual needs.\n Accurately maintain and update student records, documenting progress, achievements, and areas for development in compliance with legal, district, and school policies.\n Model appropriate social and interpersonal behaviors, including conversation, manners, listening skills, and participation in clean-up activities.\n Uphold Naches Valley School Board policies, adhere to administrative procedures and the Code of Professional Conduct, and enforce school rules consistently.\n Perform additional duties as assigned by administration to support the school's mission and its role in the community.\n \nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\n\n Certification: Possess a current and valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement(s) as required by state laws and regulations.\n Language Proficiency: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.\n Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching at the appropriate grade level and/or subject area is preferred.\n Background Clearance: Successfully pass state and national background checks, including fingerprint clearance and a criminal records check.\n State Standards Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of established Washington State Standards and their application in the classroom.\n Content Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge in reading and math skills, including their progression and development across grade levels.\n Intervention Design: Familiarity with designing and implementing interventions, including K-12 reading plans and the Response to Intervention (RTI) framework.\n Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support improved instruction in the classroom.\n \nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\n \nThe usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following conditions:\n\n Significant: (i.e. sitting, talking, hearing, walking, vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception, ability to adjust focus, grasping, handling paperwork, repetitive motion, use of personal computer, looking at a computer monitor, lifting up to 10 pounds)\n Frequent: (i.e. standing, bending, carrying; use of phone; use of copy machine)\n Occasional: (i.e. driving, lifting over 10 pounds up to 45 pounds, reaching above the shoulder, use of fax machine)\n \nSignificant - Occupation requires this activity more than 66% of time (5.5+ hrs/day)\n \nFrequent - Occupation requires this activity from 33% to 66% of time (2.5 to 5.5+ hrs/day)\n \nOccasional - Occupation requires this activity up to 33% of time (0 to 2.5+ hrs/day)\n \nJOB STATEMENT\n \nThe statements contained in this job description reflect general details as necessary to describe the essential functions of this position, the level of knowledge and skill typically required, the scope of responsibilities, and the physical demands, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of the work requirements.
