Substitute Staff - Teachers, Educational Assistants, Nurses, and Drivers

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Wilmington Public Schools is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to substitute in our dynamic schools. If you have availability every day, some days and even partial days and have a passion for education and working with students in an educational environment Wilmington is the place for you. You do not need to possess a teacher's certification to be a per diem substitute.

• Implement lesson plans consistent with the teacher's guidelines, and school curriculum
• Maintain an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience
• Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, such as fire drills and lockdowns
• Adhere to all school policies and procedures
• Carry out lesson plan instructions from the classroom teacher, and/or create lesson plans in absence of a prepared lesson
• Create and maintain a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and productive learning environment in accordance with school policies
• Other assignments as assigned by building administrators

Substitute Rates are as follows:

Day to day:

• Educational Assistant or Teacher (no degree and/or not certified - $110/day
• Teacher (bachelors degree or certified) - $120/day

31-59 days in the same assignment:

• $130/day without a DESE license
• $140/day with a DESE license

60-89 days in the same assignment:

• $150/day without a DESE license
• $160/day with a DESE license

90 or more days in the same assignment: $299.51/day (must have a DESE license)
