The following documents are required to be uploaded (attached) to move forward in the application process: • A valid and current qualifying document issued by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing (www.ctc.ca.gov), such as: • Emergency 30 Day Substitute Permit • Prospective Teaching Permit (Only if applicant is a current NMUSD Student Teacher) • CA Teaching Credential • Multiple Subject • Single Subject • Education Specialist Instruction • CA Pupil Personnel Services Credential Attach a copy of any of the above credentials or permit documents cleared by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. • 2 Letters of Recommendation dated within the last 2 years

If you are not a fully credentialed teacher and you still need to apply for your Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit or Prospective Teaching Permit, it is recommended that you apply through the Orange County Department of Education. You can make an appointment to apply by visiting ocde.us/credentials. At the same time, you can also get your OCDE Clearinghouse Fingerprints, which are required to be a substitute
