Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Woodbridge School District is a one facility PreK-6 elementary school employing approximately 165 staff members to serve and educate approximately 875 students. Woodbridge is one of Connecticut's premier towns, and Beecher Road School is the heart of the town. For the 2026-27 school year, the District seeks a full-time, long-term Elementary Education Substitute teacher beginning August 25, 2026 to December 23, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes student engagement, independence, and interdependence in learning and facilitates a positive learning community
  • Plans and implements instruction to engage students in rigorous and relevant learning and to promote their curiosity about the world at large
  • Maximizes support for student learning by developing and demonstrating professionalism, collaboration, and leadership

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Background, interest, and/or expertise in elementary education at the primary and/or intermediate grade levels
  • Hold or be eligible for State of Connecticut Certification as an elementary educator (001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 013, 113, or 305 certifications acceptable)

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This is a full-time, long-term substitute position beginning on August 25, 2026 to December 23, 2026. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the District and the Woodbridge Education Association.
