Substitute Teacher (K–12)
Position Summary Brave Christian Schools is seeking reliable and flexible Substitute Teachers to support our K–12 classrooms. This role ensures continuity of instruction and a safe, Christ-centered learning environment when the regular teacher is absent. Substitute Teachers are expected to maintain classroom structure, follow lesson plans, and positively engage students across a variety of grade levels and subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to maintain continuity of instruction
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, orderly learning environment
- Supervise students at all times, including during transitions, recess, or lunch as assigned
- Take attendance and follow all school procedures and policies
- Adapt instruction as needed to meet the needs of different students and grade levels
- Communicate clearly with students, staff, and administration
- Leave detailed notes for the regular teacher regarding student progress, behavior, and completed work
- Maintain a safe classroom environment and ensure student well-being at all times
- Support the mission and values of Brave Christian Schools in all interactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (especially in education or related field)
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different grade levels, subjects, and classroom environments
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and punctuality
- Must pass background check and meet all school/state requirements

Work Schedule
- On-call, as needed
- School-day hours (typically aligned with regular school schedule)
- Opportunities available across Elementary, Middle, and High School campuses
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, and supervise students for extended periods
- Ability to manage a classroom setting and respond to student needs throughout the day
