Substitute Teacher K-12

Substitute Teacher K-12 Located in Phoenixville PARenaissance Academy Charter School is looking for an energetic and motivated Building Substitute to work with students at all levels, from K-12. Performs the instructional and classroom management processes for teachers who are absent for a day or longer periods. Duties include taking attendance, following lesson plans, explaining homework, and maintaining classroom order and cleanliness. Create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. Monitor, observe and report student behavior according to school policies and procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plansCreates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of studentsMaintains a safe and orderly environmentMaintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assignedMaintains a professional appearance as an example to studentsRemains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principalTakes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilitiesMaintains reasonable rules of conduct that encourage self-discipline and responsibilityCommunicates effectively with parents when neededMeets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designatedCompletes other duties as assignedQualifications:Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate and Bachelor's DegreeA belief that all students should be held to high academic standardsDemonstrated professionalism, responsibility, and a strong work ethicMust be detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
