Job Summary:
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for implementation of lesson plans, learning activities and fostering a positive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher. The position involves creating a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom atmosphere, maintaining strong communication with school administration, and willingness to work a flexible on-call schedule. Substitute teacher placements can be scheduled in advance, but urgent assignments may require a last minute notification call at 6:00am with request to work from 7:30am - 3:15pm same day, if available.

Implement lesson plans and manage classroom learning activities in the absence of the regular teacher
Responsible for the students’ conduct in the assigned classes
Manages the full schedule of the regular teacher, including classroom day, clubs, study halls, yard duty, physical education and any special duties performed by the absent teacher
Follow school policies and procedures such as attendance, discipline, rainy day schedule, etc
Maintain normal classroom routines and discipline procedures, including taking attendance
Communicate to school administration regarding any serious disciplinary issues
Prepare adequate notes for the regular teacher upon conclusion the day
Establish and maintain a respectful culture of learning in a well-managed classroom
Organize and clean at the end of day leaving the classroom neat and tidy

Strong organizational skills
Detailed oriented
Strong communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
Teaching credential or permit desired
Flexible availability to accommodate an on call schedule
Commitment to the Christian faith aligning with CCCS statement of faith
Salary:
Compensation is based on fixed hourly rate up to $200 per day
A background check & TB test clearance is required.
