Whisconier Middle School is looking for excellent Long Term Teacher Sub for 8th Grade Literature!

Location: Brookfield Public Schools - Whisconier Middle School

Position Type: Language Arts, Middle School - Long Term Sub

Important Dates: August 20 & 21: New Hire Orientation

August 24 First Day for Current Teaching Staff

August 27: First Day for Students

Description:

  • Develop and deliver engaging 8th Grade English Language Arts and Literature lessons aligned with curriculum standards and district expectations.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment that encourages critical thinking, discussion, reading comprehension, and written expression.
  • Design and implement assessments to monitor student progress in reading, writing, vocabulary, and literary analysis, adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Integrate technology and diverse instructional resources to enhance student engagement and deepen understanding of literary texts and language arts concepts.
  • Facilitate meaningful classroom discussions and activities that promote analytical thinking, effective communication, and a love of reading.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student achievement and overall success.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive student behavior consistent with school expectations.
  • Participate in professional development activities, team meetings, and school events as required.
  • Qualified Candidates must hold a valid Connecticut certification appropriate for the assignment.
