Requirements for the Substitute TeacherTo become a Substitute Teacher, you must:

• Complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check (contact Penmac for details before beginning this step)
• Complete required training provided by Penmac Education Staffing
• Be dependable, professional, and committed to maintaining a positive learning environment

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities
As a Substitute Teacher, you will:

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity in student learning
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage participation and minimize distractions
• Adapt instructional methods to meet the needs of individual students
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and playgrounds
• Assign and collect classroom work based on the teacher's lesson plans
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
• For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans and assignments that align with existing curriculum and instructional goals

Pay and Benefits

• Starting pay: $80 per full day
• Opportunities for higher daily rates based on longevity or certifications
