SUBSTITUTE TEACHER (Ongoing):SUBSTITUTE TEACHER (Ongoing):SUBSTITUTE TEACHER (Ongoing):POSITION STATEMENT: Substitute teachers work on a per-diem / on call basis and perform day to day assignments to fill positions due to the absence of the regularly assigned teacher. Substitute teachers are responsible for maintaining meaningful instruction by helping students learn subject matter material and skills that are required for learning outcomes..Essential Substitute Teacher Functions:Assume all duties of the regular classroom teacher or paraprofessional promptly and in accordance with school rules. This may include lunch, recess/playground, or any other duties assigned by the building principal. Review all plans and scheduled to be followed during the school day. Maintain the established routines and procedures of the district, school, and classroom to which you are assigned. Follow all policies, rules and procedures outlined by the district and the building principal. Teach or support lessons as outlined within the permanent teacher's sub plan and consult with the Principal's office to gain clarity for any item or procedure not specified within the sub plan. Make appropriate use of media and instructional materials (as applicable). Assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior throughout the school day and take reasonable steps to ensure student safety and proper use of equipment, materials, and facilities. Obtain working knowledge of all emergency procedures. Maintain an instructional environment that promotes learning, safety and the well-being of the students. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district, or school policies and procedures. Maintain and respect the confidentiality of student and school personnel information you may learn while working within your assigned roles.
