Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team! As a Substitute Teacher, you will supervise classes and work with teacher assistants and or Co-Leads. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and highly organized. This position is an on-call, hourly, part-time, or full-time shifts; we require flexible candidates. Shifts that may need coverage are 8-4:30 pm, 9:00-5:30. 9:30-6 pm, 12:00-6:00 pm, or 3:00-6 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive in sufficient time tothe assigned classroom, ready to work.
- Follow lesson plans
- Be an active supervisor, but at the same time an active participant in children's play.
- Prepare any necessary learning materials
- Become familiar with NY State Child Care Regulations and Center Policies.
- Present a pleasant and helpful presence to the families of the children we serve.
- Complete mandated trainings of 30 hours every 2 years
- Report behavioral incidents
- Be a team player

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age and a high school diploma
- Previous experience with children between 18 month-5 years old
- Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and the ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
