PaySubstitute Teacher and Paraprofessional positions are paid at a daily rate, equivalent to approximately $15.00–$15.63 per hour, depending on the assignment. Specific pay rates will be shared for each available assignment.
What You'll Do
As a Substitute Teacher or Paraprofessional, you'll help maintain a positive and productive learning environment by:
- Following lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher
- Encouraging student participation and engagement
- Managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive atmosphere
- Adapting instruction and support to meet individual student needs
- Supervising students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and playgrounds
- Assisting with classroom activities and assignments
- Helping ensure students remain safe, supported, and on task throughout the school day
Qualifications
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have at least 36 college credit hours in any subject OR complete a Missouri DESE-approved online substitute training program
- Obtain a Missouri Substitute Certificate or Teaching License
- Complete a fingerprint background check (contact Penmac before scheduling this step)
- Successfully complete required Penmac training
