SALARY RANGE

  • Full day: $160
  • Half day: $80

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Washington State teacher certification required or Bachelors Degree. Prefer teaching experience but not required. Cleared fingerprints from Washington State Patrol and the FBI on file with OSPI. More information given upon on-boarding session.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community.
  • Maintain classroom management.
  • Work effectively with all children with varying academic, emotional, social, and physical needs.
  • Implement lesson plans as outlined by the regular teacher and leave adequate notes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students and school personnel information.
  • Report all student accidents, injuries, and discipline issues to the appropriate authority.
  • Adequately supervise students to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to on-going professional learning and collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach in an intermediate classroom with a wide range of student abilities using developmentally appropriate activities for all children in the class.
  • Maintain classroom environment conducive to learning and proven ability to manage student behaviors in a positive manner.
  • Have a positive attitude and be willing to participate actively and cooperatively with others on the staff in the shared decision-making process.
  • Work collaboratively with special program teachers and educational assistants to facilitate an integrated instructional model.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

Substitutes are employed at will. The District may inactivate a sub from the active sub list at any time with or without cause or notice and can cancel or deny substitute assignments. A substitute can remove themselves from the active sub list with or without notice and can cancel or deny substitute assignments. ACTIVE LISTING AND ASSIGNMENTS

An active listing on the sub list does not guarantee an assignment. If a reasonable amount of assignments are not worked within a 12-month period, a substitute may be inactivated with or without notice.
