POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Substitute Teacher- Spanish Immersion DEPARTMENT: Calvary Christian Academy REPORTS TO: Principal and Assistant Principal STATUS: Temporary; Hourly non-exempt HOURS: As needed, on-call LOCATION: Calvary Christian Academy, all campuses ________________________________________________________________________ At Calvary Christian Academy, a ministry of Calvary Chapel, we are a community of Christian believers who exist to make disciples of Jesus Christ through a biblical school environment that prepares students to glorify God spiritually, academically, and socially. Purpose Statement: The Spanish Immersion Substitute will work in the capacity for which they are hired. As a Spanish Immersion teacher substitute, the individual will teach, train, lead, guide, and follow the lesson plans to properly educate the grade level(s) in their care. These also could be clerical tasks, supervision tasks, and class coverage tasks as needed. As a substitute, the individual must take ownership of the assigned role so that students are always well supervised and taught per the provided plans. In the Spanish Immersion program, the classroom environment becomes the setting for language acquisition through subject content instruction and social interaction in the language of Spanish. Scope: The position is multifaceted in that the individual takes on the tasks of another staff member who is absent.
