POSITION: Anticipated Long-Term Substitute, Technology Education

Teacher, Grades 9-12

This is an anticipated long-term substitute position to cover a leave of absence, with an expected start on or about November 1, 2026. Exact start and end dates are subject to change based on the returning employees leave schedule.

START DATE: Anticipated November 1, 2026 (approx. 12 weeks)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Northwestern Regional High School, a small, rural, suburban high school ranked by the State of Connecticut as a "School of Distinction" and a "National Blue Ribbon School" , is seeking a teacher to fill a technology education long-term substitute position with the following qualifications:

• A Technology Education Teacher with a 047 teaching endorsement who specializes in the following areas preferred: graphics, video production, and 3-D Home Design (program: Chief Architect).
• Curriculum development skills and a strong science background.
• Ability to collaborate with a team.
• Experience with 21st-century educational technology, including learning engagement systems, audio-visual classroom delivery systems, student management systems, and other online communication tools.

COMPENSATION: This position is compensated at a rate of $130 per day for the first ten (10) working days of the assignment. Beginning on the eleventh (11th) working day, compensation converts to a prorated daily rate based on the BA-1 step of the current Northwestern Teachers Association (NTA) salary schedule, with placement subject to flexibility based on the candidates relevant experience and qualifications. This is a non-benefits-eligible position.
