Waterford Union High School is seeking qualified substitutes in all subject areas to cover teaching staff as well as Special Education program assistants absences. Educators in good standing but not under a current contract, or persons who have earned an associate degree and above, are encouraged to apply.

Online substitute training is required for obtaining license certification through the WI Department of Public Instruction. Additional information or assistance with the licensing process can be obtained through the District Office.

Waterford Union High School ensures all students learn at high levels as a professional learning community. WUHS is a public high school for grades 9-12 located in western Racine County in the southeast corner of Wisconsin. District boundaries encompass four separate K-8 elementary school districts whose students transition to WUHS upon completion of the eighth grade. Current enrollment at WUHS is approximately 890 students.

WUHS offers a full range of courses preparing students for careers and post-secondary education with Advanced Placement courses, college-level courses, and workforce certification courses. Students academically place well above state and national averages in the ACT and Advanced Placement test scores. The overall graduation rate is 98%, with approximately 75% of graduates pursuing education after high school.

As a member of the Southern Lakes Conference, WUHS offers more than 50 co-curricular opportunities, including student clubs, activities, and sports. Students and staff thrive in a culture of higher learning rooted in being prepared, responsible, and respectful.

Requirements for Substitute Teachers and Program Aides

  • Substitute teachers and program aides must hold or be able to obtain license certification from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
