The Pulaski Community School District is looking for teachers who are interested in daily substituting during the 2026-27 school year. A current teaching license or substitute permit is required. Openings vary from K-12 with flexible scheduling. $150/day or $190/day for long term substitution.

Job Goal: Provides instruction and manages classroom environments in the absence of the regular teacher. Foster integrated learning, thinking, cooperation, and personal and social growth. To ensure that students are the nucleus of the school system and our educational decisions are guided by what we consider to be best for students so that they are given every reasonable opportunity to realize their best selves.

Qualifications:

  • Substitute Teaching License from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • The ability to maintain a positive learning environment

  • Current First Aid/CPR certified or willing to obtain

  • Demonstrated ability to:

  • work collaboratively

  • carry out emergency/crisis response procedures

  • perform all computer technology tasks associated with the position

  • maintain confidentiality

  • communicate positively/effectively with students, parents, staff, patrons

  • Commitment to the Pulaski Board of Education Educational Philosophy

  • Demonstrated skills in positive human relations and cultural competence

  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict management

  • Essential Job Functions:

  • Must be able to:

  • Follow the regular teacher's lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate

  • Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans

  • Takes attendance and documents daily notes

  • Manage classroom procedures

  • Manage student behavior by maintaining discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for all students

  • Engage students in learning

  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness

  • Arrive at work promptly and attend regularly

  • Follow directions and work well with others

  • Work under the stress of deadlines

  • Concentrate and perform tasks accurately

  • React to change productively

  • Perform other tasks as assigned
