Substitute Teachers and Paraeducators

SAU 106 is seeking qualified candidates for all substitute roles in the Timberlane Regional School District buildings. Candidates should be flexible and willing to offer coverage where it is needed.

Substitute Teachers should have the ability to carry out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned.

RATES OF PAY

Non-Certified Teachers & Paraeducators $115 per day/$15.86 per hour for a Teacher and $17.70 per hour for a Paraeducator (based on hours worked)

Substitute Teachers that are NH Certified Educator or hold an Educator credential in another state or educators who held certification in the past and is no longer active. $135 per day/$18.62 per hour

Substitute LNA - Must provide valid New Hampshire LNA license $130 per day or $20 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Substitute Paraeducators

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • At least one year of experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Experience and/or specialized training with individuals with special needs preferred if working with special education students.

Substitute Teachers

Education and Experience:

  • Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Certificate (GED). New Hampshire Dept of Education certification preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.

As a substitute, you will assume all the daily responsibilities of the position that you are substituting, such as lunchroom duty, hall monitoring, etc., and perform other related duties as directed by the principal. Substitutes are hired at will and there are no benefits associated with the position.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Must upload Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Experience working with children strongly preferred.
