Substitute Teachers

St. Joseph School in Wauwatosa is looking for substitute teachers for the upcoming school year. The substitute teacher is expected to implement lesson plans, maintain classroom routines, support student learning, and uphold the mission and values of St. Joseph School. This is an on-call, as-needed position. Assignments may vary by grade level (K3-8) or Specials classes and are scheduled based on school needs.

Essential Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain a positive, orderly, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Encourage student participation while adapting instruction as appropriate to meet students'' needs.
• Promote positive behavior using school expectations and classroom management practices.
• Foster a welcoming environment that reflects the school''s Catholic mission and values.
• Lead students in daily prayer and participate respectfully in religious activities as appropriate.
• Communicate important information regarding the school day, student behavior, and completed work to the regular classroom teacher.
• Follow all school policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or school administration.
