    Duties

    Position:

    The Graduation Coach works with school staff to identify students "at-risk" of academic failure or in need of behavioral interventions. Develops and implements Student Success Plans to address the needs of students to meet academic and behavioral standards and works with families and community organizations to maintain the student's achievement throughout their educational career.

    Responsibilities:

    *

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
    • Meet with school based teams to determine interventions for students to collaboratively create an academic/behavioral Student Success Plan.
    • Monitor progress and interventions as aligned to Student Success Plans.
    • Maintain Student Success Plans and other records on students in order to provide feedback to both students and families.
    • Build relationships with students and families.
    • Coordinate with school and district resources to develop and document pre-referral strategies for students.
    • Provide and facilitate professional development in strategies that work with at-risk students for teachers and teaching assistants.
    • Work with administrative team and families to support alternatives to out-of-school suspension.
    • Work with Family-School Liaison to provide parent education program at schools in the community.
    • Promote proper student conduct.
    • Represent the school at school-based and community functions.
    • Promote student academic and behavior achievements.
    • Assist with Open House, student orientations, registration, and scheduling.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Assistant Principal and Principal.

    Qualifications

    • Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate
    • Master's Degree preferred
    • Three years of satisfactory teaching experience
    • Commitment to personal and professional development
    • Exhibit the ability to communicate and facilitate diverse groups
    • Experience working with secondary students is preferred
