Internship Purpose:
The Drafting Intern will support the Engineering department by assisting with CAD drafting, documentation, and design-related tasks for existing and new trailer products. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering environment while developing technical drafting skills and an understanding of production processes.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Assist Design Engineers with producing accurate and clear engineering drawings for existing and new products • Update and revise CAD drawings based on engineering markups and production feedback • Support the creation and maintenance of bills of material (BOMs) under supervision • Assist with basic layout drawings and detail drawings using the company CAD system • Help organize and maintain engineering documentation and drawing files • Observe and learn how engineering designs are implemented on the production floor • Participate in engineering and production meetings as appropriate • Support special engineering projects and other duties as assigned
Essential Skills, Experience, and Education:
Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in: Drafting & Design Technology Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field
Basic working knowledge of CAD software (Solid Works required) Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Good communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Prior internship, co-op, or technical coursework experience is a plus, but not required
Essential Physical Requirements:
• Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. unassisted • Occasionally pulling and pushing up to 25 lbs. unassisted • Repeated reaching overhead • Occasionally kneeling, stooping, bending, and turning at the waist • Occasionally climbing ladders above 2 ft. • Ability to wear required PPE when in production areas (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, etc.)

Required Work Hours and Schedule:
Summer 2026 (June 1st through July 31) Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
