Job Description Summary

Nationwide's Office of Compliance & Ethics (OCE) partners with business units and corporate functions to help ensure that Nationwide's regulatory risk profile is understood and effectively managed. OCE supports business units across Nationwide Financial, Property & Casualty, Investment Management Group, and Investments, as well as enterprise-wide programs focused on financial crimes, records management, fraud, and ethics. This breadth of work gives interns the opportunity to learn how compliance and risk management support Nationwide's businesses and help protect the company, its customers, and its associates.

Through hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance and risk management, you'll build practical skills, gain insight into how a leading organization manages regulatory risk, and establish a strong foundation for your career.

The Nationwide Intern Program is a 12-week summer internship in Columbus, Ohio that provides participants with opportunities to gain valuable experience in regulatory risk management. You'll gain exposure to the many areas and functions of compliance and ethics, including risk assessments, monitoring and testing, new law management, exam and issue management, training development, data and analytics, reporting, and governance. Our interns are strongly considered for future full-time positions.

Please Note: This internship will only support those that are local to Columbus, Ohio as this is a hybrid position. Housing will not be provided.

Skills/Qualifications Desired

  • Rising sophomores and juniors pursuing degrees in the following academic fields: Compliance, Risk Management, Legal Studies, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Administration, Public Policy, Economics, or related fields.
  • Superior academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)
  • Experiences that demonstrate collaborative and adaptable qualities
  • Communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to think strategically and critically

Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program. At its sole discretion, Nationwide determines whether to offer sponsorship for qualifying positions based on business need and budget. However, it is not usually available for entry level roles.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.

The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is: $23 - $50

About Company

Nationwide Trans Inc was founded August 11, 2004 by friends and business partners Kong Lee and Tony Tran. They started in the industry at different logistics brokerages and formulated their own business model as a freight transportation provider. Nationwide started out of their one story home in 2004 with only 4 trucks and 4 drivers. After 8 months, they moved int o a 2-acre yard and bought 22 more trucks. Throughout the years, they built strong relationships with top brokers such as Landstar, Schneider, and Coyote. Lastly in July 2011 they moved the company to its current location, Ontario, CA. the 6-acre yard consists of over 100 trucks and 150 trailers. Kong and Tony's next venture is Nationwide Logistics, in which their goal is to build life-long relationships and become a superior 3PL company in the industry.
