Applications will be accepted for a Summer Academy Nurse in the Westfield Public Schools Summer Academy Program.
NURSING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend training on July 1, 2026. Assess and provide first aid for minor injuries and illnesses and determine when additional medical care is needed. Provide prescribed medications to students. Review, update, and securely maintain student health information, medication logs, and incident reports. Contact parents or guardians regarding illnesses, injuries, medication concerns, and health-related updates. Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to ensure student health needs are understood and accommodated. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve an optimal learning atmosphere in the classroom. Strive to develop positive relationships with students. Implement the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) model. Help to create an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for all members of the school community. Perform any duties that may be assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Assessment and Accountability, and Program Site Coordinators.
QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Registered Nurse Certified or certifiable as a School Nurse, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education CPR certified
Nurse Hours: July 1, 2026, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Training 8:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Monday - Thursday, July 6 - July 30, 2026
Student Hours: 9 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday

$45.00 per hour. Up to 83 hours.
