Job Summary

Summer Camp Assistants support camp instructors and staff in daily activities, assist with supervision, and help ensure a positive environment for all participants. This is a great opportunity for students interested in education, child development, recreation, or human services, or anyone who enjoys working with youth in a dynamic setting.

Summer camp dates:

  • Session 1: June 15-18
  • Session 2: July 13-17

(Candidates available for both sessions are preferred but not required.)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist instructors with camp activities, projects, and games
  • Supervise campers and help maintain a safe, supportive environment
  • Help with setup, cleanup, and organization of camp materials
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive behavior
  • Serve as a positive role model for campers

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled college students encouraged to apply
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and responsible
  • Enjoy working with children and teens
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Supplemental Information

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain active throughout the workday, including standing and walking, as required by camp activities
  • Ability to move and set up materials and supplies (generally up to 25 pounds)
  • Ability to assist with and participate in indoor and outdoor activities
  • Ability to maintain awareness of and respond to camper needs and safety
