Title of this Position: Camp Counselor
Reports To: Lead Counselor
The Camp Counselor is responsible for providing safe and friendly childcare for the campers at Providence Creek Academy Summer Camp. Qualities needed to thrive in this role:
• Relationships - the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and key school stakeholders across the school • Knowledge - a working knowledge of PCA systems, procedures, and protocols • Dedication - a desire to interact and safely care for campers in a fun and creative environment • Community - the ability to support the other counselors in the execution of the schedule and activities that occur daily
Major Responsibilities Include:
Under the supervision of the Lead Counselor and Director, the Camp Counselor will:
• Lead the camp in the morning stretch and pledge • Set up breakfast • Set up snack • Carry group backpack and radio at all times • Provides group supervision of campers with attention to all of the following: • schedule • program • health • happiness • discipline • cleanliness • safety • routine duties • character and skill development
Additional duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
• Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience or work with children ages 4-15 preferred • Fingerprinting / CBC / TB / DFS CPR required • CPR / AED certified preferred • 18 years or older
Skills:
• Ability to: Communicate accurately and effectively with various levels of staff • Remain organized • Behavior management experience • Reliable / Dependable • Fun loving
Compensation: This position will require 3 days of work per week
Compensation: Based on years with PCA Summer Camp and Education
