Status: 40 hours/week, 21 hour

Summer Camp: Mon through Fri, June 22nd through August 7th, 2026
Shift options: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (8 hours total)
Includes: 45 minutes total paid staggered prescheduled lunch break per day
Job Overview
The Summer Camp Program Leader will assist the Program Coordinator and Program Manager with the preparation and execution of daily Project VISION summer camp programming. The Project VISION summer camp is a seven-week-long camp that aims to engage middle school students in fun and meaningful activities centered around weekly themes that promote peer-to-peer connection. Students will learn social-emotional skills they can carry with them into the school year and beyond.
Program Leaders are expected to take initiative, facilitate and lead activities with confidence, manage student behavior and maintain a team-oriented mindset. They play a key role in fostering a positive inclusive environment and ensuring each day runs smoothly for both students and staff.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead activities on a daily basis with confidence using the provided curriculum lesson plans and materials.
- Manage youth behavior and maintain adherence to summer camp expectations.
- Facilitate various small and large group activities with campers.
- Help prepare and clean up materials for lessons and activities.
- Supervise 8-10 youth on off-site field trips.
- Responsible for off-site groups departure and activities.
- Develop rapport and strengthen mentoring relationships.
- Provide youth redirection & constructive conversations.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for at least 4 hours at a time.
- Strength and energy to follow strenuous activities such as running and walking during all shift hours.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children aged 10-14, especially in large group settings.
- Experience being in a leadership role.
