Job Title: Summer Day Camp Program Aide
FLSA Status: Part Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Red Shield Program Manager
Schedule: 40W M-F 7am-6pm (will vary by shift), Seasonal from May-Mid August
Supervises: n/a
Rate of Pay: $15.30 hourly

Position Summary
The Red Shield Summer Day Camp Program Aide will work daily with kids in the center to help build positive relationships and support a friendly, safe environment where children can grow and thrive. The camp serves kids from kindergarten through 9th grade. To accomplish this, the Program Aide will assist the Program Leads and the Program Manager as part of a team to deliver programming that meets the evolving needs of the children.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with summer programming as needed, including supervision, guidance, and care for children in educational, enrichment, and recreational settings
• Assist (non-driving role) with Summer Day Camp transportation to and from field trips and scheduled events
• Provide support to Corps ministry components integrated into the summer camp program
• Support compliance with childcare licensing requirements
• Provide positive, encouraging instruction during group activities
• Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup
• Build partnerships with parents and maintain responsive, supportive relationships with children
• Help maintain discipline and encourage children to follow program rules
• Assist with general setup and cleanup of program areas and support opening/closing procedures for the facility
• Supervise rotations and assist with sign-in and sign-out procedures
• Assist in leading activities as directed by Program Leads
• Follow all internal child-safety protocols (PTM), including proper incident documentation
• Ensure each child is always accounted for
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Report all issues to the Manager or Lead
• Attend mandatory staff trainings
• Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Prior experience working with children in some capacity
· Knowledge of TSA preferred
Skills
· Strong multi-tasker
· Ability to work independently and within a team
· Demonstrated crisis intervention and non-violent mediation skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft products
· Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to learn new software with basic training
