Apex is hiring a Summer Environmental Intern to be based in Seattle, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for a current undergraduate student looking to gain hands-on experience in environmental consulting while working alongside a team of experienced engineers, scientists, and environmental professionals. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support environmental compliance, sustainability, and community development throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Intern:

• Assist with environmental field sampling activities, including collection of soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, wastewater, and air samples 
• Support environmental compliance inspections and site audits 
• Support fish exclusion and salvage 
• Support tree and vegetation survey efforts 
• Assist with data entry, analysis, and preparation of technical reports 
• Help prepare environmental management plans related to stormwater, spill prevention, and waste management programs 
• Support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance efforts 
• Assist project teams with environmental investigations, remediation, and restoration projects 
• Conduct research on environmental regulations and best management practices (BMPs) 
• Participate in safety meetings, field activities, and project planning efforts 
• Travel to project sites throughout Washington as needed 
• Represent Apex in a safe, professional, and positive manner 

What we're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, Natural Resources, or a related field 
• Strong interest in environmental consulting, compliance, remediation, or sustainability 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites 
• Previous coursework, field studies, research, or internship experience is a plus
