Summer Group Leader
Department: Adventures Program
Work Schedule:
Tentative camp dates: June 2nd - July 27th. Subject to change based on MISD School Calendar for the 2025-2026 school year
Hours: Approximately 8:30am-4:30pm (typically 8 hours per day), Monday - Friday
Salary Range: $11.00
Position Summary/Duties:
• Directly supervise a group of children before and after the regular camp hours • Ensure childrens safety, manage childrens behavior and act as a role model and mentor • Conduct activities and character development practices with children according to the programs schedule • Ensure maintenance and appropriate use of all building facilities, resources, supplies, and equipment with care and pride; including organization, cleanliness and daily set-up/take-down of the program area • Maintain positive relations with children, parents and co-workers • Attend and participate in special events, staff meetings and staff trainings • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 17 years of age • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred • Experience working with school-age children in a day camp or similar setting highly preferred • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, children, and parents • Ability to plan and conduct age-appropriate activities including, but not limited to: • outdoor/indoor games • songs • skits • crafts • educational activities
