Summer Intern Provides basic clerical support, performs various office tasks, and provides general customer service within the assigned department or external organization. Essential functions include assisting with departmental assignments, supporting departmental projects, delivering excellent customer service, completing departmental tracking and reporting, interacting with colleagues, clients, and leadership, and performing other duties as assigned. May develop and apply career readiness competencies including critical thinking and problem solving, oral and written communication, teamwork collaboration, digital technology, leadership, professionalism work ethic, career management, global intercultural fluency.Education and experience/training requirements include being currently enrolled in Tri-C, having a declared major on record, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher, potentially requiring a specific major in a relevant field and/or relevant completed coursework, being 18 years or older, completing a Summer Internship Application and Confidentiality and Nondisclosure Statement, successfully passing a pre-employment background check and/or drug testing, being enrolled during the Summer Semester, and having plans to register for classes in the Fall Semester at Tri-C.Knowledge, skills, and abilities include basic knowledge of customer service concepts and practices, commitment to providing excellent customer service, organizational and time-management skills, sound written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population, and working accurately with great attention to detail.Physical demands and working conditions include sitting comfortably to perform the duties of the job, performing repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type, some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc., and walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.This is a part-time non-bargaining unit position with a set rate of pay of $15.45/hour.
