The Opportunity
2026 Summer Internship- Engineering
Atlanta, GA | Nashville, TN | Onsite | Full-Time, Temporary | Non-Exempt | $20-$25/hr

We are seeking talented and driven Engineering Interns to join our team for the summer of 2026 in both Atlanta and Nashville. This is not a desk-only internship. You will be out in the field, working in the lab, and contributing in the office on marquee projects that real clients depend on.
Working directly alongside our project managers, engineers, and technicians, you will gain the kind of hands-on, multi-environment experience that sets great engineers apart. You will contribute to:
  • Field Work: participating in construction materials testing and special inspection services on active projects across our markets
  • Lab Work: conducting materials testing in our laboratory environment, learning procedures and quality standards firsthand
  • Office Work: supporting project documentation, reporting, and project management tasks alongside our engineering staff
  • Construction Project Management: gaining exposure to how large-scale construction projects are planned, monitored, and delivered
  • Geotechnical Engineering: building foundational knowledge in geotechnical principles as applied to real projects

Positions are available in both our Atlanta, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee offices. Please indicate your preferred location when applying. Past interns have gone on to part-time co-op arrangements during the school year, and some have been offered full-time positions upon graduation.

What Every 2MNEXT Intern Experiences
  • Real project assignments with real impact from day one
  • Direct mentorship from experienced engineers and project managers
  • Exposure to the business side of running a professional engineering firm
  • Company-paid social outings with your intern cohort and company leadership
  • A capstone presentation to company leadership at the end of the program
Who We're Looking For
We want a motivated, curious engineering student who is ready to get to work and not afraid to get their boots dirty. The ideal candidate is:
  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a bachelor's or master's program in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Eager to gain experience across field, lab, and office environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint)
  • A strong communicator who works well both independently and on a team
  • Physically able to work in field conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working outdoors
  • In possession of reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
How to Apply
  • Complete a basic employment application on our company website and indicate your preferred location (Atlanta or Nashville)
  • Applications will be reviewed collectively after the posting closes
  • Selected candidates will be contacted to move forward in the process
  • Finalists will prepare a short 5-minute PowerPoint presentation on a topic of their choice for the final interview
Work Environment
This position involves a mix of field, laboratory, and office environments. Field assignments require outdoor work on active construction sites, exposure to variable weather conditions, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Some travel across the Southeast may be required for projects and engagement activities. Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
