Bureau/Division Overview

The mission of the Human Resources Bureau is to attract, engage, develop and retain a high performing workforce. We partner with the agency's Management teams to develop strategies in workforce planning, recruitment, training and performance management (EPRS & MassPerform). HRB is responsible for maintaining employee records, reviewing and monitoring transactions related to the payroll systems (HR/CMS), and overseeing all DOR (MassCareers) recruitment initiatives.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Intern will play a key role in organizing and preparing personnel files for a move. The HR Intern will audit the state of current files, create an organizational system and research/prepare files for transfer to archives. There will also be opportunities for the HR intern to assist with other HR projects regarding onboarding and orientation plus gain exposure to human resources in the public sector.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong project management, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

An external candidate recommended for a position will be subject to a background check that includes checks for: state and federal tax compliance; child support compliance; education verification; Massachusetts CORI checks; criminal background checks in state(s) of current and previous residence/employment; validation of eligibility to work in the United States; and national fingerprint-based criminal background checks.
