Job Summary

Flagstar Bank is looking for an Intern to join our team over the summer. As a Flagstar Intern you will have the opportunity to learn the daily functions and operations of our departments. During this time you will interact with team members and leaders to gain real-world experience by working alongside our team to learn our processes and improve efficiencies while expanding on the core concepts introduced throughout your college classes. Throughout your internship you will participate in multiple engagement sessions designed to enhance your career outlook, communication skills, and business knowledge.

 

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform tasks as assigned by the department you are supporting.
  • Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems.

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: Current student or recent grad pursuing a major in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration, IT, or related. 
  • Must have completed a minimum of 1 year in an accredited college or university.

Job Competencies:

  • Motivated to learn and improve operational processes.
  • Must be able to demonstrate solid writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Adjusts positively to quickly changing priorities and shifting goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
  • Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
