Position Overview: Summer Intern - Installation Tech

We are seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our team as Summer Intern - Installation Tech in our Overhead Door division. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience while working alongside experienced technicians on job sites.

Interns will be exposed to a variety of systems and projects, including:

  • Sectional overhead doors
  • Rolling steel doors
  • High-speed doors
  • Sliding doors and operable partitions
  • Dock levelers and gate operators

This internship is ideal for individuals interested in construction management, project management, mechanical work, construction trades, and learning how job sites operate day-to-day.

What You'll Do

  • Assist technicians with installation, service, and maintenance of commercial door and dock systems
  • Learn basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques
  • Support job site setup, material handling, and cleanup
  • Help load, unload, and organize tools and materials
  • Observe and learn how to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Follow all OSHA and job site safety requirements
  • Gain experience operating equipment (as appropriate and supervised)
  • Represent Lensing professionally while working with team members and customers

  • Interest in construction, mechanical, or electrical trades
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Comfort working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and work at heights (with training)
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
