About the role

As a Seismic Imaging Technology intern at bp, you will collaborate with leading scientists oncutting-edgegeophysical research and development. Your work will span advanced seismic acquisition techniques, imaging, data processing, and reservoir characterization.You’llapply yourexpertisein digital signal processing, wave propagation, numerical simulation, inverse theory, and digital science to address complex subsurface challenges across exploration,developmentandproduction. Interns are expected to be proficient in modern programming languages and computing platforms and will implement and execute algorithms within bp’sHigh PerformanceComputing Center.Strong communicationskills are essential for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Successful interns may be considered for a full-time role within our One Subsurfaceprogrammeupon earning their degree. One Subsurface is our early careersprogrammedesigned to create a pipeline of subsurface professionals. Early careers will follow a structured development offer to accelerate the acquisition of foundational technical skills, experience and knowledge, and application in the business world. Theprogrammesupports transition from university to disciplineprofessionaland provides a framework of ‘non-technical’ skills to support building personal effectiveness skills. MinimumRequirements

• Pursuing a PhD degree in Geophysics or applied sciences are preferred.

• Graduating betweenDecember 2027 and May 2028

• Current CumulativeGPA Minimum 3.2

• On a case-by-case basis, bp may support US Immigration sponsorship for full-time or long- termemployment. 

• Must be available to start 12-week internship onMay 17, 2027 or June 14, 2027(will be required to pass all background and medical checks at least one week prior to start date)
