Position Information:

The Maintenance team is pleased to announce immediate openings for general summer help. Under supervision, hourly maintenance positions are needed to assist in a variety of tasks and activities to maintain properties and facilities within the Edmonds School District.

Responsibilities:

  • Weeding landscapes
  • Line-trimming, edging
  • Spreading of soil, aggregate, play chips, and bark
  • Painting and line striping
  • HVAC/Mechanical support
  • Other duties as assigned or needed by the Maintenance Department

Guest Position: This role involves various shift times and operates on an on-call basis depending on projects. Work hours, including start and end times, are subject to change based on district needs. Please note that extra duty employment is at-will, and there is no guaranteed minimum of hours or days per week.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour Shift Details: From 7:00am-3:30pm; Monday-Friday; July 6, 2026-August 31, 2026

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Work must be provided onsite and in person
  • Must maintain physical presence at assigned location(s)
  • Required to be punctual and follow directions of Maintenance team members

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extensive periods of time
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, or bend
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, twist, and work in and around tight spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • May work outdoors in extreme heat, humidity, and direct sunlight
  • Exposure to dust, pollen, and noise
  • Requires hand-eye coordination to operate power tools and perform minor repairs
  • Required to wear all required personal protective equipment specific to the task given

Benefits: This position is not anticipated to qualify for benefits because it is a seasonal/guest role that does not meet the threshold of 630 hours worked during the school year or the requirements of a continuing position. Please see below for more information:

  • Eligibility for SEBB state health insurance coverage is determined by working 630 hours during the school year
