EMPLOYMENT TERMS: August 3-6, 3.5 days x 3.5 hrs/day

POSITION OVERVIEW: Support student achievement by providing math, literacy, reading, and writing assistance in classroom settings. Reinforce teacher-led instruction through individualized and small-group support, promote student engagement and focus, and help students reflect on and communicate their learning.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide math and or literacy, reading, writing support to students and teachers in a classroom environment
• Know how to deliver teach-developed lessons in small groups or within a larger classroom
• Help students to maintain focus during whole groups lessons
• Provide individualized math and literacy support as directed and as needed.
• Know how to re-direct students to maintain focus on their academic goals
• Assistance students in being to described what they have learned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree or 60 college credits
• Physical ability to perform all responsibilities of the position
• Available entire duration of session

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bilingual, Spanish and English
• Flexibility and patience in helping students build their academic success
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

SALARY: $27/hr
