Position Description District 211 seeks qualified educators to serve as Summer School Teachers. Summer school provides students with opportunities to recover credits, strengthen academic skills, and continue progressing toward graduation and postsecondary goals.

District 211 is committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences that reflect our districts curriculum, instructional expectations, and commitment to strong Tier 1 instruction. Summer school teachers play an important role in extending learning beyond the traditional school year while supporting students at high levels in alignment with the districts mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction aligned with District 211 curriculum and Illinois Learning Standards
• Plan and facilitate lessons that promote student understanding, critical thinking, and skill development
• Implement instructional strategies that support diverse learners and promote academic engagement
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support student learning
• Administer assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and final evaluations
• Collaborate with summer school administrators and staff to ensure a positive and productive learning environment
• Maintain consistent classroom expectations that support student success

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Appropriate endorsement(s) for assigned teaching area
• Experience teaching at the secondary level preferred
• Strong knowledge of effective instructional practices and student engagement strategies
• Commitment to supporting student growth and academic success

Summer School Schedule Summer school operates on a four-day week (Monday-Thursday).

• First Semester: June 3 - June 24
• Second Semester: June 25 - July 16 (No classes on Fridays)

Class Times

• Palatine High School & Conant High School: 8:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
• Schaumburg High School & Fremd High School: 7:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
