As a Staff Research Scientist in Superconducting Qubit Theory, you will develop theoretical models and simulations that drive the design and operations of IBM Quantum processors. You will apply expertise in areas such as black-box quantization, network synthesis, matrix product states, or related methods to model novel superconducting qubit devices. You will develop advanced models to identify and characterize emerging error mechanisms, simulate increasingly large and complex multi-qubit systems, and uncover the physical processes that limit device performance. Working closely with experimental teams, you will connect theory and measurement, using insights from both to improve our qubits and shape the next generation of IBM Quantum processors.
