Superintendent

Superintendent to oversee site construction operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent will serve as the primary field leader, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders while driving project execution from groundbreaking through completion.

Description

• Manage daily field operations on heavy civil and site development projects.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, equipment operators, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Monitor project progress, productivity, and labor utilization.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and project plans.
• Conduct site safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
• Coordinate inspections with municipalities, utility providers, engineers, and project owners.
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize project delays.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers regarding budgets, forecasting, procurement, and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, production tracking, and project documentation.
• Oversee quality control measures to ensure work meets client expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Manage equipment scheduling, material deliveries, and workforce planning.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and internal management teams.
• Mentor and develop field staff while fostering a positive jobsite culture.

Profile

• 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, or Senior Foreman within heavy civil construction, sitework, utilities, excavation, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and large field crews.
• Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, drainage, utility installation, road construction, and site development operations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience coordinating with owners, engineers, inspectors, and utility agencies.
• Proficiency with project management and reporting software.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, safety compliance, and risk management.
• Ability to manage fast-paced projects while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey.
