Superintendent

The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking through project completion. This individual will lead field operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality are upheld throughout the construction process.

Our client is an established general contractor in Bridgeport, CT with a strong presence throughout Connecticut, specializing in complex ground-up construction projects across multiple market sectors. Known for delivering high-quality work and maintaining long-term client relationships, the company has built a reputation for excellence in project execution and field operations. Their portfolio includes multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, and institutional developments ranging from several million dollars to large-scale landmark projects. Due to continued growth and a strong backlog of work, they are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their team.

Description

As the Superintendent, you will be responsible for the following:

• Manage all day-to-day field operations on assigned projects
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel
• Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with project management teams
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans and specifications
• Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality standards
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively
• Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate project logistics
• Track project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders
• Support project closeout activities and punch list completion

Profile

A successful Superintendent should have:

• 5+ years of Superintendent experience on ground-up construction projects
• Experience managing projects from sitework through turnover
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• OSHA certification preferred
• Experience with multifamily, commercial, mixed-use, or institutional projects is a plus
