They have a strong presence here in the Mid-Atlantic with projects in DC, MD, & VA. They have a large-scale project ongoing in theCharlottesville area and are seeking an experienced Superintendent with sitework/earthwork experience to join their team.
Description
The Superintendent - Charlottesville , VA - Sitework & Earthwork will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all on-site construction activities for sitework and earthwork projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget
- Managing daily field operations, including subcontractors, crews, equipment, and material deliveries
- Enforcing strict adherence to safety standards, company policies, and OSHA regulations
- Coordinating project schedules and sequencing to maintain productivity and meet key milestones
- Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate execution of work
- Collaborating closely with Project Managers to track progress, resolve issues, and communicate updates
- Conducting regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project requirements
- Identifying and proactively addressing potential risks, delays, or field-related challenges
- Maintaining accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation of site activities
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Profile
The Superintendent - Charlottesville , VA - Sitework & Earthwork will have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent within sitework, earthwork, or heavy civil construction
- Strong background managing grading, excavation, utilities, and site development projects
- Proven ability to lead field teams and subcontractors on active construction sites
- Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and experience enforcing OSHA standards on-site
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with Project Managers and clients
- Experience managing project timelines, sequencing, and field logistics
- Ability to problem-solve in real time and proactively address field challenges
- Proficiency in basic construction technology (e.g., scheduling tools, reporting systems) is a plus
- High school diploma required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
Job Offer
The Superintendent - Charlottesville , VA - Sitework & Earthwork will receive:
- Competitive base salary up to $115K dependent on experience
- Monthly cell phone allowance up to $125
- 15% bonus
