Their typical project ranges from $100M to $200M. They have a strong presence here in the Mid-Atlantic with projects in DC, MD, & VA. They have a large-scale project ongoing in the Charlottesville area and are seeking an experienced Superintendent with sitework/earthwork experience to join their team.Job DescriptionThe Superintendent - Charlottesville, VA - Sitework & Earthwork will be responsible for:Overseeing all on-site construction activities for sitework and earthwork projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budgetManaging daily field operations, including subcontractors, crews, equipment, and material deliveriesEnforcing strict adherence to safety standards, company policies, and OSHA regulationsCoordinating project schedules and sequencing to maintain productivity and meet key milestonesReading and interpreting plans, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate execution of workCollaborating closely with Project Managers to track progress, resolve issues, and communicate updatesConducting regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project requirementsIdentifying and proactively addressing potential risks, delays, or field-related challengesMaintaining accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation of site activitiesBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teamsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantThe Superintendent - Charlottesville, VA - Sitework & Earthwork will have:5+ years of experience as a Superintendent within sitework, earthwork, or heavy civil constructionStrong background managing grading, excavation, utilities, and site development projectsProven ability to lead field teams and subcontractors on active construction sitesSolid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project schedulesDemonstrated commitment to safety and experience enforcing OSHA standards on-siteStrong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with Project Managers and clientsExperience managing project timelines, sequencing, and field logisticsAbility to problem-solve in real time and proactively address field challengesProficiency in basic construction technology (e.g., scheduling tools, reporting systems) is a plusHigh school diploma required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferredWhat's on OfferThe Superintendent - Charlottesville, VA - Sitework & Earthwork will receive:Competitive base salary up to $115K dependent on experienceMonthly cell phone allowance up to $12515% bonus100% paid healthcare (for individual base plan)15 days of vacation accrued annually10 days of sick time11 paid holidays4 personal days401k + company match
