Job Description
The Superintendent will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the work of all construction substrates in conjunction with the main office.
- Arranging, monitoring and being present for agency inspections.
- Reading and comprehending the information contained in architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and landscape drawings and specifications.
- Reviewing shop drawings and other reports prepared by testing and inspection agency. Preparing and monitoring RFI's.
- Preparing daily report forms and progress photographs.
- Working knowledge and familiarity with computer operating systems including Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel; and opening, preparing, scanning, printing, and sending PDF files and other documents.
- Actively engaging design professionals, subcontractors, project managers, and local officials, when needed, to problem solve, mitigate conflicts, and resolve disputes.
- Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly job site; and enforcing job site safety standards.
- Developing and maintaining the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager
- Overseeing daily field operations to ensure work is progressing safely, on time, and to specification
- Coordinating subcontractor sequencing and ensuring adherence to project timelines
- Conducting and leading regular jobsite meetings, including subcontractor coordination meetings
- Monitoring quality control and ensuring all work meets company and client standards
- Identifying and proactively resolving field issues, delays, and conflicts
- Enforcing compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Tracking and managing material deliveries, inventory, and storage on site
- Verifying field conditions and ensuring accurate layout and installation of work
- Collaborating with the Project Manager on budgets, scheduling updates, and cost impacts
- Ensuring proper documentation and closeout procedures are completed, including punch lists and final inspections
- Maintaining strong communication with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Supervising and mentoring Assistant Superintendents and field staff
- Ensuring all subcontractors adhere to contract scope, quality standards, and safety expectations
- Assisting in project startup and mobilization, including site logistics planning

The Successful Applicant
The Superintendent will have:
- 5+ years of experience in commercial ground-up construction, with a proven ability to lead field operations
- Comprehensive understanding of the full construction lifecycle from preconstruction through project closeout
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and implement construction documents, including drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with all project stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising subcontractors and field personnel
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks
- Proactive problem-solver with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.) preferred
- Solid knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA standards
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining project schedules and deadlines
- Strong work ethic with a self-starter mentality and ability to work independently
- Experience coordinating inspections, permits, and jurisdictional requirements
- Ability to adapt to changing project conditions and handle challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset
