A rapidly growing commercial General Contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects in Los Angeles. Their diverse project portfolio includes office, healthcare, life science, industrial, hospitality, entertainment, retail, tenant improvement, renovation, and ground-up construction.

The Los Angeles office is experiencing continued growth and has an established leadership team in place. With the company taking on more ground-up work and increasingly complex commercial projects, this is an opportunity for a Superintendent to join a growing operation and play a meaningful role in its continued success.

Description

The Superintendent will be responsible for leading all day-to-day field operations and ensuring assigned projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to project plans and specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage daily field operations
  • Coordinate and direct subcontractors and trade partners
  • Manage project sequencing and maintain the construction schedule
  • Conduct daily huddles and subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documents
  • Coordinate inspections and site logistics
  • Maintain project quality control standards
  • Identify and resolve constructability and field issues
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding RFIs, submittals, change orders, and schedule
  • Enforce jobsite safety requirements and maintain a safe working environment
  • Monitor manpower, materials, deliveries, and site logistics
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
  • Communicate regularly with clients, architects, Project Managers, and company leadership
  • Drive punch list, turnover, and final project completion

Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced Commercial Superintendent with a strong understanding of construction means and methods and the leadership skills necessary to effectively manage subcontractors and field operations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience
  • Proven experience as a Superintendent for a General Contractor
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
  • Strong understanding of construction schedules and sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Strong knowledge of quality control and jobsite safety
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve field issues
  • Experience with commercial, office, healthcare, life science, industrial, hospitality, entertainment, or similar projects
  • Ground-up construction experience is highly desirable
  • A proactive, accountable approach to managing field operations
  • Desire to grow with a rapidly expanding organization

Job Offer

  • Base salary up to $175k (depending on experience)
  • $650/month vehicle allowance
  • Bonus earning potential around 7% - 15% of base salary
  • Fully covered healthcare for employee
  • 401k match
