Description
- Lead day-to-day field operations across all phases of construction, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain productivity, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Develop and manage short-term look-ahead schedules while driving progress to meet overall project milestones and deadlines.
- Maintain current drawing sets, specifications, and field documentation, ensuring all teams are working from the latest project information.
- Conduct regular site walks to monitor workmanship, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Champion site safety by enforcing company policies, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and project-specific requirements.
- Lead quality control and quality assurance efforts, coordinating inspections and verifying that all work meets project standards and contract requirements.
- Collaborate closely with project management teams to address RFIs, change orders, procurement challenges, and schedule impacts.
- Monitor material deliveries, equipment utilisation, and workforce planning to minimise disruptions and maintain project momentum.
- Facilitate daily subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate project priorities, expectations, and upcoming activities.
- Document site progress, field conditions, and daily activities through detailed reports, photographs, and project management software.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners to resolve field issues and maintain positive project relationships.
- Lead project turnover and closeout activities, ensuring punch list completion, final inspections, and successful project delivery.
- Utilise Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite to manage field documentation, reporting, and communication.
Profile
- High school diploma or GED required; degree or coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience with at least 2 years serving in a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or field leadership capacity.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage subcontractors, field personnel, and project stakeholders.
- Ability to read, interpret, and enforce construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
- Proven experience coordinating multiple trades and maintaining productivity in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, site logistics, quality control, and safety requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve field issues while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and a strong commitment to jobsite safety and compliance.
- Proficient with construction management technology including Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities while driving project execution.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work full-time on active construction job sites.
