Job Description: Superintendent for Commercial Construction Project in Copake, NY

Position: Construction Superintendent

Location: Copake, NY

Project Value: $3 Million to $10 Million

Company Overview: Join a dynamic and growing construction management team dedicated to delivering high-quality commercial projects. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Superintendent to oversee a $3 million out-of-the-ground commercial project located in Copake, NY. The building will be a 6,500 sqft structure with a basement and will require significant site work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Management: Oversee all on-site activities, including the coordination of subcontractors, materials, and equipment. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.
• Quality Control: Ensure high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout the project. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify that work is performed according to plans, specifications, and codes.
• Scheduling and Coordination: Develop and maintain the project schedule, ensuring that all activities are completed on time. Coordinate closely with the project manager, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that may arise.
• Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring that the project is completed within the allocated budget. Report any variances or potential cost overruns to the project manager.
• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, subcontractors, and suppliers. Provide regular progress updates to all stakeholders.
• Safety Management: Enforce all safety protocols on-site, ensuring that all workers adhere to OSHA and company safety standards. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed daily logs, including work performed, personnel on-site, weather conditions, and any issues encountered. Ensure that all required documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects, preferably with experience in out-of-the-ground builds.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations. Experience with site work and basement construction is highly desirable.
• Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in project scheduling software and construction management tools.
• Certifications: OSHA 30 certification required. First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
