About this position: Superintendent Location – El Paso, TX

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of a construction project (electrical, HVAC, Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression, architectural, etc.)
• Provide supervision of onsite subcontractors and field employees.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Ensure resource availability and allocation
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Report and escalate to management as needed
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
• Perform project risk management requirements
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and plans
• Attend, facilitate, coordinate all required meetings and progress updates
• Enforcing vendor and subcontractor contracts within the context of the project
• Providing onsite project oversight and leadership of quality control, safety, and risk mitigation
• Developing detailed CSI-based cost estimates as needed
• Monitors and quality control, safety, and efficiency for construction operations.
• Reviews drawings to address construction issues and ensures a good plan in advance.
• Reviewing and incorporating historical data from purchase orders, bid tabulations, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, job costs system, etc. into unit cost, man-hour, and crew production figures as needed.
• Reviewing proposals specifications and drawings, preparing lists of bid items and quantities, and determining scopes of work.
• Recommending vendors and subcontractors for various projects, discussing and obtaining appropriate quotations in coordination with the purchasing department.
• Reviewing design options and/or recommending best solution/alternative based on cost-effectiveness, value engineering or availability of materials.
• Tracking awarded contracts as required through review of cost reports and discussions with project and construction management.
• Estimating extra work items and change orders.
• Reviewing contracts for accuracy and completeness
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
• Education Requirements: NA
• Level of Experience Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience working in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years working on federal government construction projects of similar size and complexity, and 5 years general experience in construction management for medical facilities.
• Meets the qualifications for the “On-site Supervisor / Superintendent” position included in the Statement of Work paragraph 5.1 and Specification Section 01 30 00 and is approved by the Government to serve in this role on the project.
• Experience with OSHA, EM 385-1-1 and other regulatory requirements and industry standard
• Experience in developing detailed CSI-based cost estimates.
• Experience directing, training, and motivating field personnel.
• Experience in a strong business, construction management, and delivery methodologies background.
• Must be able to obtain GSA and military base passes and be able to operate motor vehicles on military installation.
• Understanding of federal construction requirements and ability to adhere and manage.
• Experience managing federal government construction projects is a requirement.
OSHA 30 and First Aid certified

• Detail oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant amounts of information regarding plan layouts, materials, and scheduling
• Ability to produce accurate take-offs and estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings
• Ability to identify constructability issues through the estimating process
• Proficiency in pdf software such as Adobe.
• Ability to write, review and or edit cost narratives as required.
Preferred
• Experience managing construction projects in occupied environments
• Experience with construction management software
Supervisory Responsibilities
• This position will have supervisory responsibilities.
DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements
• This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

Additional Qualifying Factors
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
