Are you a seasoned construction professional with a knack for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget? We are seeking a Permanent Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This position is integral to our operations, overseeing all aspects of our construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing and executing utilities, pavement, grading, and excavation projects. Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Superintendent, you will be expected to:
1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle management, including conception, definition, execution, and closure.
2. Manage and coordinate tasks and schedules of construction workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
3. Ensure all construction activities align with project plans and specifications.
4. Lead the planning, coordination, and supervision of on-site functions including scheduling, material control, and day-to-day direction of field personnel.
5. Ensure all construction operations are carried out in a safe and controlled manner, adhering to all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
6. Conduct quality control checks to uphold the highest quality standards.
7. Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers regularly to keep them informed of progress and address any issues that arise.
8. Manage project budgets, ensuring all works are carried out within the allocated budget.
9. Resolve any problems that may arise due to inclement weather, emergencies, or other issues that may cause delays.
10. Provide timely and detailed status reports to management.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar role within the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in utilities, pavement, grading, and excavation.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, OSHA guidelines, and regulations.
4. Exceptional leadership and project management skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
6. The ability to read and understand complex architectural and engineering drawings.
7. A strong understanding of construction budgeting and financial management.
8. Proficiency in using construction management software.
9. A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
10. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel, as this role requires regular site visits.
